925 Sterling Silver

925 Sterling silver is a durable and light weight material designed for every day wear. The material is made up of 92.5% of pure silver and 7.5% of copper (and/or other alloys). Sterling silver is also ideal for sensitive ears. All products made with 925 sterling silver will have a stamp labelling "925". Aftercare for our 925 Sterling Silver products are listed below:

♡ Regularly clean your jewellery by wiping it over with a clean and damp jewellery cloth.

♡ Sterling silver jewellery can also be cleaned with a ultrasonic cleanser if it is necesary to remove any extra build up.

♡ You should store your sterling silver pieces in a dry place.

Gold Vermeil

Gold vermeil is a long lasting product that provides the look of gold jewellery for only a portion of the cost. To achieve a gold vermeil product a thick layer of solid gold is used to coat a 925 sterling silver piece of jewellery. All of these pieces will be stamped with a "925" stamp. After care for our Gold Vermeil products are listed below:

♡ Gold vermeil is prone to tarnishing when a reaction of the metal base (sterling silver) and the gold occurs. Factors such as humidity, sweat and incorrect aftercare can cause this. To stop the tarnishing from staining the piece you should reguarly clean your product. To do this a damp cloth can be used to gently clean the piece.

♡ Avoid directly spraying perfumes onto your piece.

♡ Store in a cool, dry place when not being worn.

Fresh Water Peals

All of our fresh water pearls are ethnically sourced from fresh water oysters and mussels. Aftercare for our fresh water pearl products are listed below:

♡ There is not much aftercare required for our fresh water pearls. We recommend to wear your fresh water pearls regularly to naturally moustorise them and stop them from drying. This is because fresh water pearls are quite delicate and can crack if they become too dry.

♡ Avoid contact with any acids such as hairspray, cosmetics, perfumes, makeup and fake tan as they can damage them. It is suggest to put your fresh water pearls on after these products have dried on your skin.

♡ Do not clean your pearls with any abrasive cleaners or polishing cloths.

♡ Do not attempt to clean your pearls with any steam or ultrasonic cleaners.

Imitation Pearls

At Oro Beèllaa you will find some of our jewellery pieces are crafted with Imitation pearls. These pearls are used when a deserired shape/ size is necessary. Aftercare for our imitation pearl products is listed below:

♡ Only clean with a soft non abrasive cloth.

♡ Avoid contact with any acids such as hairspray, cosmetics, perfumes, makeup and fake tan as they can damage them. It is suggest to put your fresh water pearls on after these products have dried on your skin.

♡ Do not attempt to clean your pearls with any steam or ultrasonic cleaners.

Brass

At Oro Bèllaa you will find a selection of our necklace pendants are made of brass. We use brass when a desired look is achieved by being cast moulded. Our plated brass jewellery will achieve its longevity when the correct care instructions are followed, these are listed below:

♡ Avoid contact with water or other wet chemicals such as makeup, perfume, hairspray ect. We suggest to put your piece on once these products have dried onto the skin.

♡ Gently clean your piece with a soft cloth.

♡ Do not attempt to clean with any steam or ultrasonic cleaners.

♡ Store in a cool and dry place when not being worn.

At Oro Bèllaa we always want to be transparent and honest with our customers. So if you are looking for waterproof jewellery you can wear every day without any discolouration please do not get fooled by thinking vermeil or plated jewellery is water proof!

In short answer yes, all products can be worn in water and will last but the layer of gold may wear over time if not cared for correctly. It is also important to note that gold plated jewellery is possible to get re- dipped at jewellers if this happens.
